Grip is thick with a good texture - easy to handle but not impossible to clean. It is not a shiny hard surface like some that tend to slip or get sticky neither is it a mushy texture like others that tend to get totally 'yuck' as they absorb sweat. The head section is not round so they do not role. Smart set for a very good price! The therapist has them in 1,2,and 3lb sizes. I bought the 3,4,and 5lb weights and am doing the exercises prescribed for me. I am working my way up to the 5 pounders. Bayou Fitness told me they would contact Icon Fitness for replacement parts and I have been waiting for over a month now and when I contacted Bayou Fitness again they act like they dont know whats going on. Bayou Fitness sells this product cheap because they know its defective and they will not replace the defective parts.
